You’ll also usually be invited to taste natural wines and sometimes there will be a spontaneous harvest party. As the name suggests, you'll be greeted by a family atmosphere where creativity flows and the love of food permeates everything. The menu changes according to mood and season but is always filled with delicious dishes made from locally produced, organic and high-quality ingredients. Whether you are looking for a cozy coffee break, a well-composed lunch or a full evening with dinner and natural wine, you can always count on Söderfamiljen.

Come and taste the best that our region has to offer in a real feast. The smells of freshly harvested vegetables, freshly baked bread, crispy apples, pumpkins and everything in between fill the restaurant.

Fungigården – the mushroom farm

Welcome to Fungigården (swe), External link, opens in new window. the farm shop with oyster mushrooms in all its forms. In idyllic Harplinge, among rolling meadows and lush green fields, you’ll find this cozy little farm shop with cows in the pasture next door. The self-service shop naturally features the fresh organic oyster mushrooms you’re familiar with, as well as dried and pickled ones for other uses. Oyster mushroom salt is an exciting new addition to the store. Goods from other producers are also available in the store, such as honey from the farm next door.

Wapnö

For more than twenty years, Wapnö External link, opens in new window. has developed its own ecological cycle on the farm. Good animal husbandry, tasty experiences and a sustainable environment have long been givens here. The farm's market hall has food and products for your entire plate. How about Wapnö Miljökött® - an exclusive fine marbled beef from the farm's heifers, young cows and mature cows? The counters are filled with products such as milk, cheese, yogurt and ice cream from the farm's own dairy, while the greenhouse provides vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers and chili.

Stora Berg

Stora Berg (swe) External link, opens in new window. is an excellent destination for both young and old. From a simple strawberry self-picking, Stora Berg now offers the visitor a complete experience with a farm shop, café, pizzeria and vineyard. In addition to berries, flowers and several different types of vegetables are also grown - all for sale in the well-stocked farm shop. You'll also find a range of products from other local producers.

A locally produced ”fika” break

Fika or gofika is often translated as coffee and pastry break, but it means so much more. A good fika can serve as a lift any day. Enjoy a locally produced harvest time fika. In Halmstad there are several lovely cafés with both classic gofika and more filling options.

Heagård

At the Heagård's (swe) External link, opens in new window. magnificent farmhouse from 1877 you will find a waffle café serving both sweet and savory waffle dishes. The menu includes both dessert waffles and food waffles, made from as many local Halland ingredients as possible. For example, one of the waffles has falafel made from the farm's own lentils - it doesn't get more local than that.

Linda's Eco Café

Just outside Halmstad, in Röinge, you will find the charming little café Lindas Ekocafé (swe). External link, opens in new window. Linda thinks sustainably and ecologically all the way when she prepares and sets her menu, always with seasonal ingredients. Here you will find both locally produced and home-baked coffee as well as some more filling choices.

Choose local produce by the glass and create a whole new dining experience. Halmstad produces several different types of beer, as well as wine, roasted coffee and more.

Halmstad Brygghus

Halmstad Brygghus (swe), External link, opens in new window. founded in 2013, is perhaps the most well-known of Halmstad's microbreweries. Located in the historic premises of Slottsmöllan, the brewery offers several different styles of beer, from lager to stout, as well as popular beer tastings.

Timjan's Brygghus

If you like beer, you just have to discover the Timjans Brygghus (swe) External link, opens in new window. local craft brewery at Heagård. Here you'll find a brewpub, outdoor seating and beer tastings. And the beer is brewed from natural ingredients and of course, without additives.

Wapnö Gårds Bryggeri

At Wapnö Gård, External link, opens in new window. we work very hard with sustainability. The farm brewery is part of the farm's own organic cycle with a strong focus on malt quality and unique taste experiences. How about a locally brewed saison beer and sun-ripened tomatoes from the farm?

Stora Berg

In addition to beer, wine is also made in Halmstad, albeit on a small scale. At Stora Berg (swe) External link, opens in new window. in Getinge, wine is produced from grapes grown, harvested and brewed on the farm. Their own wine is served at the farm's Roman pizzeria and in quality restaurants. Wine tastings and wine walks among the vines are sometimes organized.

Smaka på Halmstad – A taste of Halmstad

During the Smaka på Halmstad festival, you can taste, smell, feel, listen and enjoy flavors from Halmstad and the surrounding areas. A two-day food festival in the heart of Halmstad, Stora Torg Square.

Some of Halmstad's greatest treats are gathered under one roof. Here you’ll find local producers and food processors in a temporary market hall. You are greeted by scents and warm fragrances. In every bite, you’ll feel the love for the craftsmanship behind the fantastic flavors and you also get the chance to see and talk to the persons behind the products.
